Tania – Chief Cook, Bottlewasher, Food Explorer & Founder of Food I Am
Located in the heart of Australia’s food bowl, the Riverina, Food I Am is an exciting destination for all lovers of fine food.
Part cooking school, part events venue, Food I Am allows visitors to either roll up their sleeves and learn from the best chefs in the country, or to sit back and relax while the expert team prepares a culinary delight.
Frustrated that there was not enough access to great food experiences in the region, Tania Sibrey commenced Food I Am in September 2011, opening her amazing purpose-built facility overlooking Wagga Wagga in April 2014.
“Throughout my whole life, I have always had great experiences centred around food shared with family and friends,” Tania explains.
“My craving for foods of the world and good quality produce came from my food-obsessed mother. An amazing cook and teacher, my mother experimented with global cuisines - We travelled the globe in Mum’s kitchen!”
Creating a unique blend of quality food, wine and agri-tourism, with Food I Am Tania simply wanted to offer country people the same experiences available in metropolitan areas.
“One day I just thought ‘why not?’ I had the support of industry and the time felt right. I guess I was driven to highlight how great our regional produce really is.”
Bringing many top chefs to the Riverina to share their knowledge and techniques, Tania has also established Food I Am as the perfect setting for corporate team building exercises and is helping people combine their passion for food and travel with International culinary tours to Italy, Spain, Portugal and Vietnam.
